The LifeResource Approach
As you may know at LifeResource Ministries we are focusing on the festival in a different way than in the past.
We believe the traditional "sit and listen" festival especially those where speakers are instructed to speak only on the meaning of the festival was helpful fifty years ago. Over time people and their needs have changed, but our observance of it has not kept pace.
When the Church of God first began observing the Feast of the Lord, people were scattered, many without churches to attend. Hearing sermons for eight days was instructive. But that dynamic has changed. Most of us meet with other regularly and have at our fingertips a host of learning resources.
To spend all that time and money going over what we already know is not what God had in mind for us; and we can prove it. His vision for the Feast is much greater than our imagination, and certainly greater than our current practice.
We understand that one of the God-given purposes for the Feast is to rehearse the meaning of the festival. We fully intend never to let go of that practice. At the LifeResource festival, we will always teach the traditional meaning of the festival and how it fits into God's plan for us.
However, there are other purposes clearly shown in scripture for the Feast of Tabernacles. Most of us have never applied those purposes to the festival, though they are just as important as rehearsing the meaning of the observance.
Rather than going off in a new direction our effort is one of getting back to what has been lost, of restoring faith and practice as God originally intended.
Surely it must seem curious to God to see people studiously following one part of his instuction for this festival while studiously ignorning several others.
Are you tired of attending a festival where people focus more on fun than on God, more on duty than on worship? Would you like to come home with new spiritual skills, inspired, and fired with zeal for God? Would you like to know more about what the Feast can really be for us?
