What is the Feast of Tabernacles?

The Feast of Tabernacles was a harvest festival observed by ancient Israel. This festival was one of seven festivals given to Israel by God, all which may be found in Leviticus 23.

One might ask why a Christian church would observe them today? The answer is simply that the New Testament reveals that these days were observed by the New Testament Church, and that they have spiritual significance for Christians.

Members of the sabbatarian Church of God believe the model for Christian worship is laid down in the New Testament record and that it needs no modification. It was perfect as delivered by Jesus Christ and remains so to this day.

Jesus lived his example of Christian life and gave instructions about it to the Apostles, warning them through Jude to contend for that faith delivered to them once and for all time. We believe that following that original faith and practice helps us draw closer to God and understand more about his will for us.

Our observance of this annual fall festival is a highlight of the year, a family event filled with spiritual learning, fellowship and fun, away from the pressures of every-day life.
